Bopha, CELTA Cambodia Graduate, December 2017

"It was an intense experience. Was it worthwhile? Absolutely. I learned many things such as teaching methodology, classroom management, and student-centered teaching. I think I made the right choice of doing the CELTA because now I can confidently say that I can walk into a classroom and be sure that the students will learn something."

"I have enjoyed doing the CELTA course at the ACE campus in Siem Reap. From the fellow students through to the course tutors it has been a great month and a pleasure to get to know everyone. I have learned a lot on the course that I am looking forward to putting into practice in the real world.  I feel much better equipped and more confident that I will be able to deliver a better experience for learners that will enable them to get the most from their lessons. The tutors on the course were obviously experienced and passionate about what they are doing, and I gained a lot from observing them in a teaching environment."

"For me personally, I found this experience both stressful, tiring but at the same time confidence building and brilliant. I have learned an unbelievable amount of information and skills in four weeks; I now feel that I can and will be able to teach in the classroom and that this has given me an extra string to my bow.  I have to be mindful and appreciative towards both tutors whom I found to be honest, even when honesty may not have been what you wanted to hear.  All in all, this has been one of the best experiences in my learning life so far."

"The CELTA is one of the best courses I have done. It has been a very enriching experience, and I am glad that I did it. It felt like the whole course is a well-tested formula that ensures maximum learning within a short period of time. It has a good balance of theory lessons and practical teaching with constructive feedback. The trainers are very experienced teachers, and they always tried their best to help us cope with the teaching practice and assignments. I appreciated this. However, I must say the course is very intensive, and it is only suited for those who are certain that they enjoy teaching and want a teaching career."

Marcus, CELTA Cambodia Graduate, December 2017

"The course was very intense, but each assignment and lesson was very beneficial.  Listening to the tutor's feedback was also very helpful, and getting to watch others teach was a great learning experience. Taking the CELTA was an enormous pressure during the four weeks, but having an excellent group of co-workers helped to reduce the burden and the stress.  The tutors were also excellent, and with what I learned from them, I feel confident in my ability to manage a classroom and know how to organize a lesson.  I would not want to go through the course again, but it's an experience that I would never want to change."

"I had a fantastic experience on the CELTA course in Siem Reap. The instructors were a great support throughout the course. The course was exceptionally well put together, and I have learned a lot. I had a lot of encouragement and support throughout the course, and fellow course students were also immensely helpful.  Although it was tough work at times, the course was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. It has been a rollercoaster of emotion, stress, and fatigue but well worth it. I am incredibly proud and happy with my result."

"The CELTA course at ACE Siem Reap was my first venture into the world of English language teaching, and I'm so glad I took this route. The course was intense but manageable, thanks to the support provided by our excellent course trainers. It was a very good balance of theory and practice. Each morning we studied the theories behind different lesson structures and methods, and each afternoon we put those theories into action by teaching practice lessons to actual students. The Cambodian students were a delight to work with, and were so supportive of us as new teachers. It's hard to imagine a better place to take the CELTA training course than at ACE Siem Reap. The staff was extremely friendly and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. All of the teaching facilities and equipment were new and worked well. In addition, there is a fantastic restaurant on the top level of the building that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. It was so convenient to not even have to leave the building for meals. Not to mention the fact that this is all in Siem Reap, Cambodia, surrounded by so many amazing historical and cultural sites. I highly recommend the CELTA course at ACE Siem Reap. It is a challenging course that provides a great foundation for a career in TEFL/TESOL. I was able to secure a very good teaching job within weeks of completing the course. There are also the benefits of taking the course in a beautiful place where all of your needs are easily met. It is tremendous value for the cost of the course: a good investment that I'm glad I made."

"The CELTA at ACE in Siem Reap, Cambodia was amazing. It was such an intense experience and the information has contributed greatly to my teaching success. The classroom facilities and technology provided at ACE are second to none, which really added to the experience. The teacher trainers were always available and their feedback was invaluable throughout the learning process. Within a few weeks of graduating from the program, I was able to secure employment with an international school. I still keep in touch with my trainers from the CELTA, and most of us who completed the course together keep in touch regularly. Those seeking CELTA certification will find the course at ACE Siem Reap worthwhile and rewarding."

SUE, CELTA Cambodia Graduate, November 2016

"During the pre-course interview, the teacher trainer was upfront: the CELTA is intense! It had been more than 35 years since I had last studied formally. Was I crazy? I honestly had no idea whether or not I could pass, but I did know that I could try my best and was determined to do so. Without any prior formal training, I was already teaching English in a Cambodian school and was highly aware of my own need to improve. I woke up on the second day of the CELTA convinced I was ‘in over my head’, and thought I should pack my bags and return home. However, the trainer really encouraged me by saying that he would help me to prepare for that afternoon's lesson, for which I was responsible. He helped. I taught the lesson and survived that day (and all the other days of those grueling four weeks), but not without the support and encouragement of the teacher trainers, my fellow trainees and my family back home. From the start, I was determined to ask questions in class no matter what anyone else might think. There were times, while working on a weekend assignment, when I thought, ‘I have no idea what I'm doing’. Nonetheless, I pressed on and did the best I could, determined to pass on time! I'm amazed by how much I learned during that long and intensive month! I appreciated the small class of trainees, the challenge of learning how to teach both elementary and intermediate level adults, and the morning class sessions led by the teacher trainers that were engaging and very often fun. I appreciated the relative quiet of Siem Reap, as well as the rooftop cafe at ACE, which was no small perk: it was a great convenience, providing good food as well as a place to take a healthy break and chat with friends. I'm so glad I took the plunge and experienced the CELTA training course, despite its promised intensity. It was worth the work."

"I completed the CELTA training course at ACE in Siem Reap, Cambodia. I made the choice to undertake the course there as it's a beautiful location and an inexpensive place to live for a month. The course is a rollercoaster of emotions, but I can honestly say that I gained so much knowledge and expertise from the teacher trainers and tutors, who were always on hand to offer advice and support. As a qualified teacher from the UK, the CELTA offered me far more than a 'top up' in terms of pedagogy: the seminars provided practical and in-depth knowledge, the observation feedback was consistently clear and thorough, and the course itself was well-structured. ACE Siem Reap provided an excellent environment in which to study, the facilities were good, and the staff was helpful and friendly. One of the best aspects of the facilities was the cafe, which was a wonderful place to relax, grab some food and meet other trainees. I'd highly recommend to anyone who is keen to undertake a CELTA course that they go to Siem Reap, Cambodia for a month: it will be extremely rewarding, both professionally and personally!"

"For me, the benefits of taking and passing the CELTA training course go beyond acquiring an internationally recognised TEFL/TESOL certification. During the course, you'll find out more about yourself and further realise why you want to teach. You'll also have an opportunity to meet amazing people: teacher trainers, co-trainees and Cambodian students who will help you to grow and develop to be the professional and the person you've always wanted to be. The CELTA definitely opened countless doors for me, in more ways than one. And I highly recommend it to anyone who's serious about making a meaningful difference in their own and other people's lives."
