GENERAL ENGLISH PROGRAM (GEP) 

The ACE General English Program is a part-time program designed for students wishing to achieve an upper-intermediate level of English. For students who start at the beginner level, the duration of study is approximately four years ranging from Beginner 1 to Level 12.

Program Features

Graduates of this immensely popular program are widely accepted in Cambodia as having the minimum English language proficiency required for employment in an English-speaking environment.

ACE teaches all four English language skills of Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing as well as Grammar, Vocabulary and Pronunciation.

Teachers provide students with feedback on their work throughout the term. At the end of each term students are tested and given a written report on their progress in the four skills. Assessment of Grammar is also included for students from Beginner 1 to Level 10.

Class Size

A maximum of 21 students (up to Level 10) and 18 (above Level 10) is permitted in GEP classes in Phnom Penh. A maximum of 22 students (up to Level 10) and 18 (above Level 10) is permitted in GEP classes in Siem Reap.

GEP Level 12 Certificate

The GEP Level 12 Certificate is awarded on successful completion of this program. To graduate, students must sit the IELTS test (Academic Module) which is included in the program fee. The graduating requirement is an overall band score of 5.0 with no macro-skill (Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing) lower than 4.0.

Graduates from the ACE General English Program are widely accepted in Cambodia as meeting minimum requirements for employment in an English-speaking environment.

Graduation

ACE has a high success rate in the GEP.  Generally at least 90% of the students satisfy the IELTS requirements and follow on to their graduation ceremony, which is held shortly after the release of the IELTS results.
